Surf Rentals & Hire
Lyall Bay, Titahi Bay, Otaki Beach (Kapiti Coast) & Castlepoint
Wellington Surf Lessons have a great selection of rentals available for students to hire such as wetsuits, surfboards and accessories. Hire is available every day we run surf classes at Lyall Bay and by request outside of these hours.
Our locations are Lyall Bay, Castlepoint and Otaki/Kapiti Coast.
You can choose from the following:
- x1 Surfboard (Choose your own size board on arrival)
- x1 Wetsuit (Choose your own wetsuit size on arrival)
- Surfboard & Wetsuit Combo (Choose your own size board or wetsuit on arrival)
- Booties, gloves and hoods
Rental duration is up to x2 Hours
Important:
Before hiring equipment please make sure you have a good understanding of surf etiquette and we also recommend taking a few lessons to learn beach safety and how to control your board properly.
Note: All surfers are required to stay to the side of the surf lifesaving flags as this area is reserved for swimmers only.

Free Storage Of Your Belongings
We offer free storage of your belongings whilst you surf. However we take no responsibility for lost items.

Hire is surf/weather dependent, therefore most hire times will only be showing on the calendar 2-3 days prior to when there will be good surf. To get the best waves make sure you download the Wellington Surf Lessons App to be notified when we are going to be at the beach offering rentals. This way you'll never miss a fun surf session!

Location
We are a mobile surf school and our trailer is located by the Lyall Bay Surf Life Saving Club, Otaki Surf Life Saving Club and Main Beach Castlepoint.
We also have a Surf Shop in Miramar called Wellington Surf Co. where you can buy the same high quality surf equipment we use in the surf school.
